Looking for some great wild bird feeding stations…
There is nothing quite like a summer evening; the warmth begins to cool down to a comfortable level, the smell of freshly grown grass caresses the tip of your nose; oh and that chirping of birds ready. The promise of that sound alone keeps many of us sane during the fall, when all is bare and all is dry.
Birds are perhaps the only members of the animal kingdom that are born with the ability to sing. Some humans are born with it too, and some can be trained, sure, but our entire genus is not blessed with the heavenly talent that birds possess.
Close your eyes and just listen to that music. It would be blasphemous of me to call it chirping, for simple chirping it is not; it is the sound of a thousand good thoughts, the rhythm of a million good feelings and the beat of a billion good deeds.Harper Lee once pointed out that, and I paraphrase here, to kill a mockingbird is the greatest sin of them all, for a mockingbird does nothing but make beautiful music. She had to chose a single bird for the purposes of her book (a great piece of literature, no doubts there), but we don’t. For many of us, birds are birds and we wish to give something back to them in return.
The best we can do is feed them (for money would do them no good). If you have a large terrace or balcony, you can purchase what are called Wild Bird Feeding Stations. They are basically large, multi-level platforms meant to attract hungry birds. Because they have multiple levels, you can create a whole resort of sorts for your favorite animals.
One level can be a bird-bath while another can house food. They are very easy to assemble and can be installed by a single person. However, you need to have some space, especially vertical space, to get the most out of these things. Pretty soon, then, you will have your own natural orchestra playing in the mornings and the evenings, and if you are lucky, throughout the day as well. Be sure to watch out for squirrels, though. Being rather intelligent creatures, they can figure out how to scare away the birds and take over the feeding station. There are a few measures you can take; it would be best to get in touch with fellow users to find details on the same. You will not regret buying a Wild Bird Feeding Station, though; especially if you are, like me, of a poetic disposition.
